About Distance Learning

What is a distance learning course?

Distance learning courses are also known as home study or correspondence courses. Rather than having to attend classes, you study independently at home, at a time and pace that is convenient to you. All of the educational materials needed to complete your course are provided. Qualified instructors are only an e-mail or toll-free call away if you need assistance, and you can also use online tools to take exams, get your grades and more. Since you are studying at your own pace, you can complete a course in as little as six months, or if you prefer, take up to two years to complete your program.

Is distance education something new?

Continuing education through distance learning programs has existed for more than 100 years. Many educational institutions are realizing the benefits of correspondence courses and offering home study programs as a viable alternative to the conventional classroom setting.

What are the benefits of a Stratford distance learning course?

An increasing number of people are looking to home study courses as a practical way to:
Upgrade existing skills
Learn more about a new career field
Increase self-esteem and confidence

What types of students enroll in Stratford's distance learning courses?

Many of our students are serious, career-minded individuals who have come to realize the true value of marketable skills in today's increasingly demanding work force. Many of our students have families and demanding schedules, both of which conflict with the rigid scheduling of classes in conventional school settings. For these students, a distance learning course offers a logical way in which to further their education. In fact, many of our students enroll in our home study courses based on the recommendation of other students and graduates.

About Our School

Are you accredited?

No, Stratford does not currently claim any academic accreditation, nor have we ever done so. Stratford offers introductory courses designed to help students gain knowledge necessary for the vocational application of a subject. Completion of a Stratford program does not fulfill legal requirements of particular state licenses or certifications, which may require additional training or apprenticeships.

Do you offer a high school program?

Yes. You can learn more by clicking here.

What are your admission requirements?

Stratford has an open entrance policy. We believe that any adult who feels that he or she has the potential and capability to benefit from their selected program should be given the opportunity to continue their education. However, as a general rule, students should have a minimum of eight years of formal schooling.

Do you provide any financial aid?

Although we do not generally participate in government-sponsored student loan programs, Stratford does offer monthly payment plans with 0% interest. In general, individuals can enroll and get their first module with a down payment of $20 or less.
